I went out on a massive photo jaunt yesterday from dawn until dusk, and part of that was on Dartmoor national park. I decided to end the day at Great Staple Tor as I still want to improve on the shots I had of it. On arriving looking east towards the TV mast on Hessary Tor you could see the band of thick fog poised ominously on the peak. It was quite surreal as it seemed to just hang there. It was only about half hour before sunset that the band of fog began to pour over the top of the Hessary and Mis Tors and seep down the west side; it was very fitting for Halloween and stunning to watch. I did worry about getting back down to my car before the visibility vanished along with the light. I was prepared though.
