I went to Crow Point the other day to photograph the groynes. I posted some of my photos here on my other website but wanted to post this one here. I captured the groynes in a couple of different compositions, and also lost a few due to the tripod sinking in the sand as the waves came in. This isn’t great for long exposure shots, so I had to bin a couple.
I like this photo of the groynes although the waves aren’t reaching the nearest one. I love the character in the old wooden pillar and the way the sand had gathered around the other one. I think it just tells a bit more of a story about the beach, while the other long exposures with just water visible do less so. I still like the simpler composition of the photo of the groynes below.

I think I am going to switch to the Lee Filter system. I think it would be nice to have a full same brand system rather than part Format Hitech, Part Lee and part Cokin. It will also be easier to attach a circular polariser to the Lee holder.
