Having missed the golden hours this weekend I found myself wandering rural Devon this afternoon. I ended up in a forest that looked amazing from the road side. As I wandered into the woodland it looked quite beautiful, with the afternoon sun breaking through the tall coniferous trees leaving dappled light across the forest floor. I tried to pick out places where the light hit the trees enough to give enough sidelight to highlight the textures of the bark. I quite like this composition; I felt that it was quite balanced between the sunlight and the trees that dominate the right side of the image.
The shot was taken at 1/50th of a second at F5.6 at a focal length of 135mm.
